Chuck's 1990 Eclipse GSX

Post by Paul_VR6 »

I'll followup with more details as it gets tuned, but for now it's up and running nicely.

1990 Eclipse GSX
Stock 4g63 longblock
T3/T4 60 trim turbo DSM compatible turbine housing with .70 a/r comp housing
Huge IC
Tial 50mm BOV
750cc injectors

Stock CAS with 2nd trigger mod in MS box
4bar MAP with Baro
Launch Control
Stock coil/igniter w/ LED spark mods
Deleted MAF, wastegate sol, fuel sol, IAC, etc
GM CLT
GM IAT
Innovate LC1

Many thanks to those who have worked on these before (Dieselgeek/DIY Autotune). The writeups I had were great and the time from stock ECU to running on MS was about 2 hours. Started on the first crank once we plugged the coil back in! Not bad for having never even looked at a DSM up close before.

I cut the stock ECU harness right at the connector and spliced what I needed to the MS DB37. I still need to wire an ignition hot relay in to control the MFPI relay but other then that it seems to be working well.

Going to street tune to about 22psi and then head to the dyno to finish the pump gas tune and then crank it up until something lets go on race gas.

Having trouble with misfires in two cyls, not sure why. Tune is WAY fat with low timing until the issues are worked out.
