1952 Beetle 2332cc Turbo

Post by OliveRS »

Hi
After some years trying it works .
The V1 engine was :
- 84mm stroke (Bugpack porsche journals) x 94mm Mahle P/C
- 041 heads 40x35.5 stainless valves, ported to CB manifolds & CB 48mm throttle bodies,300cc Bosch injectors .
- Engle TCS20 cam- VW 1: 1.25 rockers
- Turbo was a T03, then a T03/T04e
- pcb V3.0 with MS1 Extra029q , running spark through MSD6A & MSD billet dizzy .

Best ET 12.8" 1/4, dynoed at 211hp / 30Mkg torque @ 14psi

Now the engine is :
- 84x94mm with wiseco pistons total seal rings
- AJSimms LBC4.5 cam with Pauter 1:1.3 rockers
- Autocraft 910 heads with Chevy 49x39 stainless steel valves, K800 kmotion springs
- Home made throttle bodies & plénum to fit the IDA manifolds ( IDF Tb cut & fit) with 650cc RC injectors
- Same turbo T03/T04
Dynoed : 285 hp 40mkg torque @ 16psi but must be over 300 when rpm signal will be cleaned .

Next step, MS2Extra2 to try boost control, launch control and may be water injection .

nice heads :D
Could you tell me which sensor you use ?
I am working on an injection for my engine (90,5x82 ,vz 14 ,atmo, en routier) but i am bit lost when i ve to choose wich sensor to use.

Hi
the sensors are GM i think (bought from DIYautotune )
I choose those sensors because the were new, and to avoir Easytherm program (it was 2 years ago) .

Les sondes sont du General Motors achetées chez DIYautotune, ce choix etait parce que ca marchait "tout seul" avec la MS1 , pas besoin de recalibrer avec Easytherm .

Cool de voir une autre Aircooled mégasquirtée :D

Swapped to MS2 2.886 this week .
MSD6A box triggered with VB921 circuit, MSD billet dizzy VR sensor .

I have some troubles with the ignition : With megamanual settings, it cranks but y have 90° BTDC timing on the timing light .

I have those settings :
Ign Input capture > Falling edge.
Cranking trigger >Trigger Rise.
Coil Charge Scheme > Standard Coil Charge
Spark Output > Going Low (Normal)

I'm gonna try Spark Output inverted and then Cranking trigger Calculated .
