VW '61 dune buggy- trying to add turbo and fuel injection

Post by zaperroni »

Hi, I just bought a 1961 Fiberglass dune buggy and it is in the middle of an engine upgrade. It currently has a 1641cc engine, and I'm putting on a turbo and fuel injectors. When I bought it, the previous owner had just purchased a megasquirt 2 and I was wondering how I could use that to make the injectors work. Any help would be appreciated!
thanks,
Brandon

Yes it's entirely possible, but do you have any other EFI hardware to go with the controller? Fuel pump, fuel rails, injectors, throttle body, etc?

yes, I believe I have everything needed to complete the kit, I just don't know what to do with the MS

here is a link for a pic of the engine: http://s812.photobucket.com/albums/zz47 ... g&newest=1
It needs some welding, such as the 4th exhaust tube, but the only hard part is going to be the computer
thanks!

It shouldn't be too hard, you using a regular distro? If so you have to lock the advance to do spark control, and probably do a few simple board mods.
