Re: 16 MPG around town, 502 powered '59 Cadillac

1 A.msq OK. I finalized my .MSQ. The Cadillac runs great. The mileage is 16 miles per Gallon around town and 26 on the highway. Most V6s don't get this mileage!!! Here is a final .MSQ. Al - Bruce, Thank You very much, for your ingenuity and design talents, in building such a fantastic system. The o...

Re: 16 MPG around town, 502 powered '59 Cadillac

1.msq OK, Here's the latest. 16 MPG around town. 26 MPG on an easy highway cruise. Big block Chevy running lean at cruise. I have found that as I lean it out past 18.7 to 1, it will start to miss which causes the WBO2 to bounce between 18.5 and 19 to 1. So the leanest this car runs happy at, is abo...

Re: 16 MPG around town, 502 powered '59 Cadillac

Here is my latest ".MSQ". The earlier one was just for mileage, light on AE and generally lean on the cruising bins. This one is a really good running setup and it gets great mileage. I haven't been able to do a "Just around town" or a "Just Freeway", this .MSQ is a lit...

Re: 16 MPG around town, 502 powered '59 Cadillac

This car was an 8 - 10 MPG car, on a carb. The other car got great mileage after I MegaSquirted it. So when I did this one I actually tried for mileage, not power. This car when we built it was heavy on the "FEED ME"! Some asked if it got hot during driving, no. Just as it was before, no c...

Re: 16 MPG around town, 502 powered '59 Cadillac

My .MSQ is posted. And what I requested from the MS VE, is what I got, after a few iterations from MegaLogViewer.
It's awesome. Here's a typical sample of a really long datalog. Hope you can read this section. That RPM means it was from about 70 MPH on the Freeway. 2600 RPM = 72 MPH.

16 MPG around town, 502 powered '59 Cadillac

Many of my friends knew I’ve been working on my kids 1959, Big Block (502), Chevy powered Cadillac for a while. To get good mileage out of it, I installed a Megasquirt V3 set to be lean for mileage when under light loads. A couple weeks ago, I figured I was finished with the installation, so I did a...

Re: 1990 Chevy Suburban 454 TBI

I found my "Issue". It was a bad fuel pump relay. The voltage to the fuel Pump would fall off, the pressure fell off, and the engine would go real lean. Runs great now.

Re: 1990 Chevy Suburban 454 TBI

I really like some of the settings that you have. Many are very similar to mine in some places except I live in California and don't have to worry about 20 degree startup!!! You must have bigger injectors than I have as my RF is 7.2. I have a 502 CI (bored and stroked 454) in an old Cadillac with a ...

You are going to find SPARK is very easy to setup and use.
Here's my baseline numbers for a 350 Chevy.
Hope it helps you out.
