1995 GTI - 3.2L 24v VR6 on MS3

Just a place holder as I get this one working a little better and to post a few updates. The old 12v setup is retired for a good going over, and I have a new ecu setup to support the new motor setup. I believe this is the first 3.2L 24v VR6 on MS at all.

New setup:

Stock 04 Touareg 3.2L 24v BAA longblock
R32 intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, oil pan, pump
75mm Mustang TB with adapter plate
3.5" intake
2-2.5" TT 24v downpipe
2.5" TT exhaust
10lb flywheel
UR pullies
no ac/no ps

This one is running off a Beta MS3 with a Glenn's Garage/Error* daughter board running some of the 3x features off of the MS3x header. My plan was to be able to switch to the expander board once it's available so all the injectors are wired through the second DB37 connector.

Got the car up and running a few days ago and other then a small problem with a bug in the table switching code I was off and running. Currently tuning the car but it has no trouble lighting up the tires through 3rd.

Plan is to start using the VVT code once it's available for the intake/exhaust vvt that's present on this motor. Currently the exhaust bank is controlled by the open loop boost controller, and the intake from the VVT pin through an on/off feature.

Further updates and pictures to follow!

I took 2deg out above 90kpa.. otherwise identical. Need a dyno to do anything more. 8)

Wow excellent work Paul!!

Have you swapped over to the new code? I know it's been in beta not sure if it's stable yet.

Have you got any wiring diagrams/spreadsheet which may help others out (esp me!!!)

I'm still on .15alpha MS3 code, need to get .16 and try that out.

Not too much on the wiring side. I made another adapter harness from the stock 12v harness to run everything. I'm using the smog pump solenoid wiring to run the intake vvt, the egr solenoid wiring for the exhaust vvt, and I'm still running the stock 12v coilpack and wires.

Once I have a 3x I'll rewire again so I can have full seq/cop.

Stay tuned!

PS: pic 'in process' still have been to busy to snap a pic of how it is now!

Now running on 3x. 8)

If anyone wants a Glenn/Error* board setup to plug in to MS3 directly on the 3x header and have some of the 3x functions, let me know.

13.0@105 on the first pass and lost the oil pump drive cover on the second and had a small fire. Got it all sorted though! Still more tuning to do...

Paul,
Looks like the car is coming back to life!
Nice!!

When is the 12V going back in?
( kidding kidding )

Is that ignition table a result of dyno tuning?
I don't run a 24v but I was still surprised to see how little advance at 100kpa
